New signs to help more people discover Gosport’s local gems

20 locations across Gosport are receiving new outdoor signs to help residents and visitors find out more about the locations on their doorstep.

The small signs feature a QR code to take visitors to linked pages on the Discover Gosport website. There they can read more about the location, including key facts about its past and present, stories and multimedia.

Some of these are outdoor or public spaces where information may not be otherwise be easily available. In other venues, nearby organisations or businesses have helped create lists of key facts.

Councillor Peter Chegwyn, Leader of Gosport Borough Council said: “Gosport is packed full of fascinating gems – and these new signs will help more residents and visitors find out about what’s on our doorstep.

“As the information is digital, we can more easily update it in the future. People will also be able to find out about other locations, events, and news across the borough on our recently-revamped Discover Gosport website.”

The project is part of a wider Government-funded programme to boost Gosport’s digital presence and help more people discover our local heritage, culture and businesses.
